Windmill Island Garden Wedding
When I first met Joe and Becca I knew I would have fun working with them!! Becca’s gorgeous blonde locks, her love for Joe and horses, and her passion for creative photos has been a true joy for me to photograph! I was so excited to shoot their Windmill Island Garden wedding! Even though the tulips were not in bloom, many other beautiful flowers were flourishing. The beautiful dutch buildings~ and of course the windmills!~ did not disappoint!
Design One did a fabulous job on hair and makeup! After getting dressed, Becca had an emotional first look with her daddy. So sweet! Then Dad walked her up to see Joe for the first time while wedding party watched from afar. Such a joyous time! We wandered around the property and captured some amazing photos! The resident horses in the field were so friendly and one even posed for photos! This was more than we could have hoped for as horse lovers! We climbed the spiral staircase for photos in the windmill, what a treat!
So thankful we were able to get many beautiful photos before the rains came. It rained lightly during their outdoor ceremony, then as if on cue, as soon as ceremony was over it rained harder!! Perfect timing! Many guests were good sports and helped out with a rose petal send off, umbrellas and all! The couple was whisked away in a romantic horse and carriage ride around the island. As the carriage rounded the outside corner these beautiful black horses on the property would chase the carriage. They seemed intrigued by the white horse pulling the buggy. It was great fun to watch!
The pair ended their day with a tented reception at the Windmill Island, beautifully decorated by Designing Dreams. A perfect wedding day! #loveisaknauf

Loved these purple flowers to coordinate with the lavender bridesmaids dresses
